Admission Policies:
All Applicants Must Hold a valid class 6, 6L, 8, or 8L Drivers License.
Payment Policies:
- A $100 Non-Refundable Deposit is required to book a training session.
- The balance of the course fee will be due at least 7 full days prior to the scheduled start date.
- Any rescheduling must be done at least 48 hours prior to the scheduled course start date, or full course fee will be forfeited.
- Motorcycles that are used for training will be available for testing in Duncan at no charge.
- If you fail the first test a $50 fee will be required to use the motorcycle for each additional test.
Course Outlines and Costs:
One-on-One Personal Instruction:
New Rider Training: 9-hour minimum.
- $900+GST ($945 total) with your motorcycle.
- $1000+GST ($1050 total) using one of my motorcycles.
If you have not already passed your skills test, you will have to sign up for at least 9 hours of One-on-One instruction. Training can be broken up into 2 or 3 sessions with a minimum of 3 hours per session.
- The course will include closed course practical and/or on-road training.
- Additional charges may apply to cover costs of travel. Exact details will be arranged before scheduling training.

Individual Sessions:
- $300+GST ($315 total) for a 3-hour session. With your motorcycle.
- $400+GST ($420 total) using one of my motorcycles.

Student Responsibilities:
- To obtain the appropriate Learners Permit before the course start date. (Do not leave it to the last minute, ICBC will only allow you to do one learners exam per business day.)
- Comply with all ICBC requirements.
- Come to each class with proper attire and riding gear.
- Attend all scheduled dates arranged with Vancouver Island Motorcycle School unless otherwise notified.
- Students must pay for repairs of damage they cause to school motorcycles, up to, and including replacement value if the motorcycle is rendered unrepairable. Minor scratches are forgivable, but any broken parts must be replaced.
Vancouver Island Motorcycle School Has the Right to:
- Charge for training should a student not arrive for scheduled training without giving 48 hours notice.
- Charge for training should the student arrive without a valid Learners License or proper riding gear.
- Charge a student for missed of forfeited lessons.
- Cancel tests if the instructor feels the student is not ready to take the exam.
Student Dismissal Policies and Procedures:
- If any student displays inappropriate behaviour or acts in an unsafe manner that is detrimental to any employee or other student taking training with Vancouver Island Motorcycle School the instructor has the right to dismiss the student without refund.
- There will be absolutely zero tolerance of alcohol, drugs, and/or any other such substance in, on, or around any Vancouver Island Motorcycle School facility or vehicle. Any student in breach of contract will be dismissed without refund.
Dispute Resolution:
- All complaints and concerns must be submitted in writing for investigation.
- A written decision and outline justifying the decision will be supplied to all parties involved in the dispute.
Refund Policy:
Withdrawal from a course must be done in writing and is subject to the following:
- The $100 deposit is Non-refundable.
- b) More then 7 days prior to the scheduled course date Vancouver Island Motorcycle School will refund the full course fee minus the deposit.
- 48hrs-7 days before the scheduled course date 50% of the course fee will be refunded.
- 48 hours prior to scheduled course date and/or non-attendance on the course date: No refund will be issued.
- There will be No refunds after the start date of the course.
- Transfer to an alternate course date is subject to available space and is conditional subject to Vancouver Island Motorcycle Schools approval with a minimum of 48 hours notice prior to the scheduled start date.
- There is no refund for student dismissal, missed classes, or missed portions of a course.
Other Policies:
- The Instructor and School License will be available for viewing if requested at any time during training.
- Completion, of course, does not eliminate the need for testing, or guaranty ICBC will issue a license.
- ICBC will have access to training records.
- If you take training on a school motorcycle, it will be available for you to use for your tests in Duncan, provided the instructor feels you are prepared and the tests are booked at the end of training.
